Muslih Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

Muslih (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides an AI-assisted companion app that helps couples communicate, reflect, and grow together. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and shared, and the choices and rights you have. By creating an account or using Muslih, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

This Policy is written to be read alongside our Terms of Service. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the app.

1. Who We Are

Muslih is operated by Syed Nadeem Ahmed (“the Operator,” “we”). For any privacy question, request, or concern, you can reach us at [email protected].

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account & Profile Information

When you sign up and complete your profile, we collect:

  • Authentication data: your Google account identifier or phone number, used solely to verify your identity (via Google Sign-In or Firebase Phone Authentication).
  • Profile details you provide: name, role (e.g. wife/husband), date of birth, country, city, profession, and anniversary date.
  • Pairing information: a pairing code used to link your account with your partner's account, and the resulting partner link.

2.2 Counseling Session Data

When you use guided counseling sessions with Muslih, our AI counselor, we collect and store:

  • The messages you and your partner exchange with the AI during a session (session transcripts).
  • Issues, themes, and summaries the AI extracts from your sessions, and any rolling per-person summaries used to maintain continuity across sessions.
  • Your reflections, follow-up questions, and answers you provide about a session.
  • Your responses to onboarding and follow-up questions used to understand relationship patterns (“taxonomy” and “insights” data).

2.3 Friend Mode (Nikky, AI Companion) Data

If you use Muslih's one-on-one “friend mode” chat with Nikky, our AI companion, we collect your messages and Nikky's replies, and we extract and store durable personal facts you share (for example, preferences or recurring topics) so Nikky can recall context in future conversations.

2.4 Technical & Device Information

  • Push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging token), used to deliver check-in and follow-up notifications.
  • Basic technical data generated by using the app (e.g. timestamps of activity, session identifiers, error logs).
  • Approximate usage and cost metadata associated with AI processing (used internally for service operations; see Section 6).

2.5 Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

We do not knowingly collect precise real-time location, government identification numbers, financial account details, or health/medical records. Muslih is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or legal advice (see Section 9).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Create and secure your account, and verify your identity at sign-in.
  • Provide the core counseling session and friend-mode experiences, including generating AI responses grounded in your conversation history.
  • Link paired partner accounts and manage the relationship between them.
  • Generate relationship insights, taxonomy scores, and personalized follow-up questions and check-ins (“Pulse” messages).
  • Send push notifications relevant to your sessions and check-ins.
  • Maintain, secure, debug, and improve the app, including monitoring AI usage and cost.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your counseling or friend-mode content to market third-party products to you.

4. How Information Is Shared Between Partners

Muslih is built around a core privacy principle: your partner does not see your raw messages, transcripts, or friend-mode conversations.

Specifically:

  • Only synthesized, high-level themes or recommendations — never verbatim messages — may inform joint recommendations or shared insights.
  • Friend-mode conversations and the personal facts extracted from them are never shared with your partner.
  • Post-session follow-ups (“Pulse”) are generated independently for each partner and do not reveal the other partner's private content.
  • If you unlink from your partner, you can choose whether your shared session history is retained or removed for your own account (see Section 6).

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following categories of third-party providers to operate Muslih. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own independent purposes.

  • AI processing: Anthropic (Claude models) processes session and friend-mode messages to generate responses, summaries, and extracted insights.
  • Authentication: Google (Google Sign-In) and Firebase (Phone Authentication) verify your identity at sign-in.
  • Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) delivers notifications to your device.
  • Hosting & infrastructure: our application and database are hosted on cloud server infrastructure that stores your account and session data.

We choose providers that offer appropriate security and confidentiality commitments, and we only share the data necessary for each provider to perform its function.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

You are in control of your data. From within the app, you can:

  • Delete your entire account: permanently removes your account and associated data, and notifies your partner that you have left.
  • Clear session data: permanently deletes all counseling sessions, transcripts, and summaries for your account.
  • Clear friend-mode history: permanently deletes your AI companion chat history.
  • Unlink from your partner: you may choose to retain or delete your shared session history when unlinking.

Where you do not request deletion, we retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, after which it is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate profile information (e.g. via the app's update-name and profile features).
  • Delete your personal information, as described in Section 6.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights beyond what is available in-app, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated API access, and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Not a Substitute for Professional Care

Muslih, our AI counselor, and Nikky, our AI companion, use AI to support communication and reflection between partners. Neither is a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical provider, and neither is a substitute for professional mental health, medical, or legal advice. If you are experiencing a crisis or need professional support, please contact a qualified professional or local emergency/crisis services.

10. Age Requirement

Muslih is intended for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. International Data Transfers

Because our service providers and infrastructure may be located in different countries, your information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an appropriate level of protection consistent with this Policy.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised.
